Architecture · Public Toilet at Berlin Breitscheidplatz
Wall AG · 2006
Since the early 80´s there has been a public toilet out of date near the Gedächtniskirche of Berlin at the Breitscheidplatz. After redesigning by IONDESIGN it now possesses clear and functional features, which are embedded in a spacious and light environment. The entry can be compared to a little catwalk and leads to a modern public convenience with indirect lighting behind opaque glass, aquamarine-coloured tiles and brushed steel. Two projections show abstract water world. Excellent quality, perfect technology and a harmonious sound create comfortable surroundings and furthermore prevent vandalism.
